How the Internet can be used to Study English

A long time ago when internet wasn’t born yet the only technology that humans were able to use is abacus, old fashioned cameras and etc.

As we’ve all know INTERNET the most modern way to communicate with the people around the world. INTERNET began to operate in the 1960’s. In this way a single signal can be sent to multiple users. The old fashion way in sending mails had been thrown out in some people. Mostly now uses E-MAIL for sending mails to different parts of the country or sending it to other countries.

E-mail was developed through ARPANET as did the bulletin-board system.
It has now different qualities; here are some of them; yahoo.com, mail.com, hotmail.com, naver.com, duam.net, gmail.com and more. People knew that it was a modern way in sending their mails to their families, friends, loved ones, and other relatives.

In 1991, was introduced to the people of what we call now as the WORLD WIDE WEB.WORLD WIDE WEB is the part of the Internet that most users see and use and which has made it so popular. This gave birth to a big boom in web usage. The web continuous its growth in a very incredible way. There are now a billion of pages of the web and thousands more.

And now that INTERNET has come to be my way of learning, discovering and seeing new things. I feel that I’m very lucky to have my internet to hold on to. For my projects, assignments research and etc. but of course I am not forgetting to study by book, to research from libraries and etc. because I know that internet does really help a lot, but I also know that I should also help myself to relate my studies to my own learning.

This is one of the reasons why I started Live Online Video ESL Classrooms, to help people use the internet to study English. Studying English is very important & this is the new trend that is happening in the world. All you need is an internet connection, mic & headset to study.

Go to http://www.study-english-now.com/ to study English online now. The price is right, you can save time, money & your energy.

Studying English Online Offers Unparalleled Learning Freedom

As the information age rolls on we are finding more and more universities that are willing to invest in the education of students who may not necessarily be in a position to attend classes at that particular university. The offerings are still somewhat limited but there are opportunities to study English or earn associates, bachelors and even master's degrees strictly though online course work. This is something that was virtually unheard of even a few years ago.

Today's students truly do have more options available to them than ever before if they are willing to invest the time and effort into their studies, there are few limits to the level of education you can receive, even if it has been years since you last attended a university or community college. Even those colleges and universities that do not offer full fledged degree programs exclusively through online learning mediums are beginning to offer many courses online for students with busy schedules and lifestyles. This means that you now have the opportunity to combine distance or online learning with a few night or weekend courses in order to complete your degree even if you have a full time day job and family that needs to see you at home on occasion.

Even if a degree is not something you are necessarily seeking you might be amazed at the wide array of courses that are available for those interested in increasing their depth of knowledge on different issues from the comfort of their own homes. I know that the idea of self-directed online learning opportunities appeal to me on many levels. These opportunities however, are not necessarily a good idea for everyone. We all learn in different manners and some of us learn best by actually being in the classroom and hearing what has to be said or from hands on experience. This type of learning is not necessarily possible when it comes to distance learning in an email or bulletin board type of environment, which is how many Internet classrooms operate.

Online learning is also not a good idea for those who aren't perfectly willing, able, and capable of holding themselves responsible for their learning. Face it, for some of us it is much easier to get up and go to a classroom than it is to force ourselves to log on and pay attention at home. We all have areas in which our discipline is well in hand and others where we seem to have no discipline whatsoever. If you can't hold yourself on task or have difficulties not being distracted by the many other novel things there are to do online you might be best served through an actual classroom experience rather than a distance learning environment like those of online classes.

This is not meant to discourage you from distance learning or online classrooms. In fact, I think these are by far the best option for many working professionals who are seeking to advance their careers, knowledge, and/or earning potential. You will not need to feel as though you are choosing between the future needs of yourself and your family and the limited time you have with your family already. You can schedule around your family time and make the sacrifice when it comes to sleep.

With online classes it doesn't matter if you are in your pajamas or in a suit and tie you can still do the work you need to do online and no one will be the wiser. You also might find that you can squeeze your education into your lunch hour, particularly if you can type and chew at the same time. The truth is that online classes offer superior flexibility to those hoping to further their education. Whether you are hoping to earn a degree or simply wish to broaden your horizons by taking a few online English classes, you just might find that the possibilities are limitless once you begin taking these courses from home.

Studying English is not a new concept for many people these days but studying English online using your webcam & microphone is a new concept. Do Education offers online English lessons & they will be staring August 1st. Hurry up, because at first they will only be accepting 150 students in to the program for the price they are offering.

The 8 Steps to Prepare for the TOEFL Exam

Hello Everyone,

I can across a great article talking about how to pass your TOEFL exam. Read below for a list of ideas that will help you prepare for the exam.

Passing the TOEFL exam is a critical step in getting into college, obtaining professional certifications needed for work and even getting a job in certain cases. For anyone whose native language is not English, the TOEFL exam is often something they face if they plan to live or study in an English environment. TOEFL or Test of English as a Foreign Language is a standardized test of academic English that is administered worldwide. It is available in an Internet-based form and a paper test.

The TOEFL exam is not an easy test. It is comprised of 4 parts: reading, listening, speaking and writing and takes 4 hours to complete. The test taker must have a very good understanding of the English language including grammar, idioms, listening skills and vocabulary. It is very important to prepare for the TOEFL exam in order to pass it. Below are some tips on how to pass the TOEFL.

1. Know what to expect. Read all you can about the topics tested in the TOEFL and how they are tested. Get sample questions and even full sample tests. This way the format and type of questions you will encounter will not be a surprise to you.

2. Review all your grammar rules and idiomatic expressions that you have learned to date in English.

3. Invest in a TOEFL preparatory book. It is a structured, easy to follow method of reviewing all the information necessary to pass the TOEFL test. Such books typically come with sample tests to help you prepare.

4. Practice for the exam by taking a practice test. Time each section as it would be during the real exam. Use the correction key to correct it afterwards and to identify any mistakes you made. Review the rules for those mistakes and be sure you understand why you made the errors you did.

5. Work with an English tutor or teacher who can help you understand the areas you are having difficulty with. A good teacher will be able to provide explanations that you can understand, as well as memory tricks to help you retain the information.

6. Take additional TOEFL practice exams until you achieve a high passing grade on several. Now you are ready to take the test.

7. Get plenty of sleep the night before the test, so that you arrive in good shape for one of the most important tests a non-native English speaker will ever take.

8. Pace yourself as you take the test. Don't go so fast that you neglect to read instructions and don't dedicate too much time to any one question.

They say that practice makes perfect. Nowhere is that more true than with a test like TOEFL. The test does a very comprehensive job of analyzing a person's ability to learn and work in their second language. Therefore, it is essential to review, study and learn all the skills needed in order to pass the
TOEFL test Acing this test will open numerous doors for you.

Take a
sample Toefl test to help you prepare for the Toefl exam.

What is a Homestay?

Do Education takes a great responsibility in ensuring that your homestay is a safe & an enjoyable experience. One of the ways we do this is by having first hand knowledge of the area & first hand knowledge of different cities & towns in Canada. We frequently telephone our students & homestay hosts to promote communication & to ensure the safety of our students. All of our homestay hosts, including all of the family members go through a complete police check. They are all interviewed by a representative that is responsible for safety awareness. If there is an emergency at any time our guardians will be with our students in one hour or less. We use the services of Canada Homestay International. Please refer to Canada Homestay International's website to learn more about there services & all of their benefits.

What is a Homestay?

Homestay experiences will provide you or your child with a private room, a bed with clean linen & private storage for you or your child's belongings (such as a chest of drawers or a closet). There will be access to a bathroom with their own clean towels. Typically, Homestay scenarios can range from a completely immersible family experience, to a very basic room rental. We aim to provide a complete immersible family experience.
A homestay is a form of tourism and/or study abroad program that allows the visitor to rent a room from a local family to better learn the local lifestyle as well as improve their language ability. While homestays can occur in any destination worldwide, some countries do more to encourage homestay than others as a means of developing their tourism industry. Hosting a homestay participant also allows the local family to earn some additional, needed income. Having low profitability, as it is, a homestay can not be regarded as strictly commercial activity, but more of cross cultural exchange & a learning experience. We refuse homestay hosts who only have the monetary reason to become a host. Students generally arrange a homestay with their school, but can also informally arrange to stay with a family through social connections, and through a variety of private agencies.
In most homestays, a student lives, eats, and shares the majority of their time in the host country with the hosts and their family. Family events such as dining out, amusement parks, camping, travel, etc. usually involve the host student who may or may not be expected to pay a portion for the participation (tickets, parking, gas, travel expenses, etc.) The student is invited to participate in Holiday festivities (Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.) and family events (weddings, birthdays, etc.) As well, students may simply be renting a room within a private home with minimal supervision from a host or family. Host families are always encouraged to help the students adjust to the culture difference. The likely homestay host might be a teacher or a retired teacher who misses teaching. A great host family will ensure that you succeed in your goal of learning English.
